Work Experience
Winter 2016 | School of the Art Institute of Chicago Crafting Contemporary Art in India Lecturer Taught study trip course in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Mumbai around contemporary art in India and its intersection with traditional craft. Students, traveling for the first time in India, met a variety of contemporary artists working in India including Anita Dube, Atul and Anju Dodiya, Mithu Sen and Manish Nai, and visited multiple sites for production of traditional textile, ceramic and stone craft. Students produced studio work or art history research based on their experience of the layered histories, traditions and contemporary issues they encountered in India. |
Spring 2015 | Columbia College Chicago Technology for Dancers Guest Instructor Taught five-class unit on basic sound recording and composition with an introduction to audio production using Pro Tools. Introduced students of dance and choreography to different modes of listening and working with sound within their existing choreography practices. |
2012–2015 | School of the Art Institute of Chicago Northern India, Scandinavia, Italy, Romania Study Abroad Advisor / Student Affairs On-Site Support Worked with faculty and staff to plan, coordinate and co-lead study trips. Worked with incoming and outgoing exchange students, maintaining relationships with exchange partner schools. Facilitated and organized student activities and travel on study trips. Assisted faculty with logistics and group management and support students with social, emotional and practical concerns while abroad. |
2011–2012 | School of the Art Institute of Chicago Teaching Assistant for CORE Program: Digital Pilot Taught incoming first year students at SAIC during rigorous, year-long foundation program; the first-ever digitally-focused CORE course. Designed and led lessons on animation, sound for moving image and rigging models in Maya. |
2009–2011 | Freelance Graphic Designer New York, NY Graphic and Web Designer Clients include Das Racist, Duquesne University, The Fending Group and OrangeMico. Designed logos, designed and developed websites and user interfaces, created art assets. |
2007–2009 | Snibbe Interactive Inc. San Francisco, CA Art Director / Graphic Designer Oversaw art production and produced artwork for a variety of interactive and digital installations, including interactive projections, tabletops, kiosks, and Flash games. Worked directly with engineering and installation teams to develop pieces for museums and public spaces all over the world including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Pavilion, the California Academy of Sciences, the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, and Mills College. Helped to develop concepts, then created concept art and mockups from written proposals, and produced design treatment documents for clients and our staff. Produced art assets for installations including images, animations, and front-end interactive elements, and worked with software developers and installers to integrate artwork. |
