Work Experience

Winter 2016 School of the Art Institute of Chicago Crafting Contemporary Art in India

Students, traveling for the first time in India, met a variety of contemporary artists working in India including Anita Dube, Atul and Anju Dodiya, Mithu Sen and Manish Nai, and visited multiple sites for production of traditional textile, ceramic and stone craft. Students produced studio work or art history research based on their experience of the layered histories, traditions and contemporary issues they encountered in India.
